I have been studying about and working with young children for most of my life. Since graduating from the ECE program at Cabrillo College I have continued to take classes and workshops at a variety of places including UC Extension, Mills College as well as lots more classes at Cabrillo. Before my 18 years as a Head Teacher at Gateway Preschool, I ran a parent co-op preschool program through Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department.

For the last few years I have been consumed with the creation of Coastal Community Preschool as one of the founding Teacher-Directors. Starting our new school has been one of the most fulfilling opportunities in which I have had the good fortune to be involved.

Now that CCP has become a strong organization I have decided to make a big change. This year I leave the classroom and work just a couple of days each week on the financial side of CCP. I’ll still get to have some time with children by substituting in the classroom when teachers take time off. I am excited about the new schedule and the time it gives me to travel, garden, walk on the beach and spend time with my husband and two grown children.
