The 2011-2012 school year will be my fifth year both living in Santa Cruz and teaching at Coastal Community Preschool in Classroom One. I received my BA (major in English, minor in Business and Public Administration) at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington in 2003. I worked in Public Relations and Fundraising for two years in Portland Oregon. In 2005 I moved to southern California, where I completed my Early Childhood Education Master Teacher coursework and student teaching at Riverside Community College. I then taught Pre-K at Riverside Community College's Lab School before moving to Santa Cruz.

I will celebrate my seventh wedding anniversary next spring with my husband, and longtime sweetheart, Dave. I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Since living in Santa Cruz, I have been exploring and hiking in the area, experimenting with growing vegetables and I try to get to the beach as often as I can with my dog. I recently got back into horseback riding and cooking Thai food. I volunteer with Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy and at the Santa Cruz Public Library.

I am looking forward to another wonderful year at CCP!
